What is 5'S ?
5'S is a cultural practice in Japanese society. First introduced in Singapore in 1986 and has been practiced successfully there. This practice was later practiced in Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, China, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Russia, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Colombia, Uruguay, Brazil, Costa Rica and Mexico.
5'S is the acronym for the Japanese word for:
- SEIRI means SORT (SISIH)
- SEITON means SET IN ORDER (SUSUN)
- SEISO means SHINE (SAPU)
- SEIKETSU means STANDARDIZE (SERAGAM)
- SHITSUKE means SUSTAIN (SENTIASA AMAL)
5'S is the foundation for improving quality and productivity continously.
